CodeBook v10 to be showcased at Autodesk University 2011
SQL Server support takes CodeBook towards the enterprise
23 November 2011, London, UK: CodeBook International has released version 10 of its CodeBook platform, its toolset that boosts the value of building information modeling (BIM) software applications. The updated application, which now supports SQL Server database tools, will be showcased at Autodesk University in Las Vegas, November 29 – December 1 (on stand 4C).
CodeBook manages information from project inception through to facilities management after project completion. Working with industry standard CAD and BIM tools, CodeBook links to models, shares data and gives detailed reports and validations throughout the design and construction phases of a project. On completion the building owner takes possession of a detailed room information database linked to the 3D building model.
CodeBook version 10 adds CAD and BIM support for ArchiCAD 15, AutoCad Architecture 2011 and 2012, Bentley Architecture V8i, MicroGDS 2011, Revit Architecture 2011 and 2012, and Revit MEP 2011 and 2012. It also supports Word and Excel 2007 for reporting purposes; Windows XP and Windows 7 64-bit operating systems are both supported, and CodeBook v11 also offers SQL Server as a database option.
Peter Mann, founder and CEO of CodeBook International, says:
Of all the new capabilities, we are most excited about the SQL Server option. CodeBook has been used by thousands of industry professionals to capture data about complex buildings using Microsoft Access. By adding SQL Server support, we are taking the product to a new level, opening up the potential for simultaneous, multi-user access to share BIM information during program, design, construction and handover processes.
Our product roadmap for 2012 includes further enhancements to make CodeBook genuinely enterprise-class, and to support more distributed team-working. Web support for data entry and reporting, and better facilities management tools will extend CodeBook's value for designers, contractors and building owners and operators alike.
CodeBook v10 will be showcased on stand 4C at Autodesk University 2011 in Las Vegas. Peter Mann will be available to talk about the application and CMO Andy Hamer will be talking to potential new resellers about distribution opportunities. Cyril Verley of CDV Systems, one of CodeBook's US resellers, will also be present to talk to prospective users.
